It’s Lift Off for the Hans Sloane Centre

Thursday 13th August was launch day for the Apollo 360 Team and their adventure in STEM.

A group of 12 teenagers aged 13-17yrs old, from Killyleagh to Carrickfergus, signed up for this summer school. Eight members of the team attended a two day workshop to assemble a model of the Apollo 11 Rocket while others worked from home, researching space travel, the recent Mars Missions and how to code the new Microbit – a credit card size computer!

The new Hans Sloane Centre

But it wasn’t just the STEM that excited these young people, it was being in the new Hans Sloane Centre and hearing about the possibilities it could offer them. Enjoying time with their peers, team work and some singing and piano playing while they worked. They will be back to watch a film on the Apollo Mission and to show case their project results.

And YOU too can soon come to see the stage 1 development at the Centre – the beautiful interior,  see Team Apollo 360 work and all the other events on offer. But nothing happens without Sign Up.
