The Hans Sloane Centre is completely volunteer run. There are no paid staff and we rely on the dedication of volunteers to staff the Centre and keep the doors open. We do need more volunteers who can make a commitment of 2 hours weekly. Its an easy and pleasant pastime. If all is quiet, read the paper or your book, chat on your phone. When visitors arrive, interact as required. Usually just a greeting and directing them to the various exhibitions or to the Patio and Garden. You will always be briefed on every occasion about what’s on and any event that maybe running during your staffing session will be covered by a dedicated manager and therefore does not require anything more than your presence as the staff volunteer in the Reception area.
